Fast and Dead (1995). Description
The Wild West. A town with a fancy name "Atonement". The leader of the local gang, John Herod, decided to have some fun. He's organizing a shooting tournament. The prize pool at that time was huge – 120 thousand dollars. And naturally, the most notorious scoundrels from all over the area flock to these competitions. Everyone wants to get money and will stop at nothing to beat their rivals. And the rules are simple. All are divided into pairs by drawing lots. One lucky shot sends the winner to the next stage of the tournament, and the loser immediately goes to the morgue. Herod himself also participates in competitions. He is one of the best shooters, and therefore has no doubts about his final victory, and that the money will eventually remain with him anyway.
But several participants of the tournament are not here just for the money. One of them is a retired military man who arrived with one goal in mind – to kill Herod. He was well paid for this by the local peasants, who were tired of the constant extortion. Herod's young son also participates in the competition. He has long wanted to prove to his father that he has grown up and is ready for adult affairs. Another shooter is Court. He is a former criminal and an associate of Herod. But Kort retired and lived in another town. So he was captured by bandits and forcibly brought to the tournament. And finally, another character is the only woman in this company, Ellen. She's not interested in money at all. She wants to take revenge on Herod, who once killed her parents.
